Yvonne May, a Gospel Artist & Voice Coach based in South Africa, has released her new Amanpiano song, “When You Hear The Beat” featuring KingDMusic in memory of her husband, Olumide Obafemi Oduwole.

Olumide Obafemi Oduwole, her late husband who passed away in October 2012, wrote the song. He wrote it in 2005 and taught me to sing it within minutes, and I have loved it ever since.”

The date October 19, 2022, marks ten years since his death. As a way of honouring his memory, I decided to record the song in his honour. I could not have asked for a better person to collaborate on this track than Kingdmusic himself. Thankfully, he jumped in with me again and added a beautiful second verse in the Venda language of southern Africa.

My original plan was to make it a rap song, but I just fell in love with the Amapiano vibe and decided to change it up. So, you will enjoy a classy Amapiano vibe on this song.
